For the upcoming essay I am a tad stumped on what I would like to write about. After reading both Gee and Rodriguez' pieces, I think that I would like to touch base on both of them. Because I can relate my nephews to the fact that neither of their parents will have a college degree, and they will have to strive on their own through college, I could connect this to Rodriguez. I have become their role model with going to college, and have decided that because of this I need to make sure that I am doing my best to show them this. I think a paper in relation to my family and to the readings would be most interesting and beneficial for myself. Whenever I can relate a topic to my personal life, I find it easier to learn. Because of this I would like to suggest connecting both pieces to our own lives in some sort of way.
